|
The present study purposed to identify factors affecting the job maintenance of visually handicapped workers at vocational rehabilitation facilities, and to analyze the characteristics of visually handicapped workers’ job maintenance factors according to facility types. This study assumed that factors affecting job maintenance are social skills, vocational skills and socio-environmental factors. For this study, a questionnaire survey was distributed and completed by 126 visually handicapped workers working at vocational rehabilitation facilities throughout the country as of February 2006. The current researcher performed frequency analysis and X2-test to examine the general characteristic of the subjects and the distribution of facilities by types, t-test to determine differences in job maintenance factors according to facility type, ANOVA to determine differences in the factors according to general characteristics, and regression analysis to identify factors affecting job maintenance. Collected data were statistically processed using SPSS 12.0. Conclusions drawn from the results of this study are as follows. First, differences in job maintenance factors were ovserved according to age, academic qualification, job experience, the cause of disability, the degree of inconvenience caused by disability. Second, socio-environmental factors appeared to have a significant effect on job maintenance. Third, in the analysis of job maintenance factors according to facility type, Labor working/protection facilities appeared to be more positive than working activity facilities in each factor.
